Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Vakh desktop dictation.

Is Vakh completely free?

Yes. The Windows desktop application is 100% free and open source under the MIT license with no hidden tiers.

Does it require an internet connection?

No. Vakh operates fully offline using embedded local Whisper AI models, so your voice data remains entirely on your PC.

How does text injection work?

When you double-tap Left or Right Control, Vakh listens and injects typed keystrokes directly into whichever app is active (Notepad, VS Code, Word, Chrome, etc.).

Are Linux and macOS supported?

Vakh is currently optimized for Windows 10/11. Native Linux and macOS builds are actively under development.
